A Letter from our Sacred Waters President:
Greetings and thanks for your interest in Sacred Waters! For the previous nine years, I have called Pagosa Springs, Colorado my home. My 19 years of experience in the outdoor sporting realm have spanned across six states, during which I primarily managed Outfitters and Fly shops. Along the way, I have realized that facilitating a great experience on the water or in the woods is even more fulfilling when I get to share that experience with others. My family has taught me the only way to keep our outdoor sporting heritage and traditions alive, and keep our forests and rivers healthy, is through education and exposing new people to our sporting culture. From this mindset, Sacred Waters was formed.
Sacred Waters is many things, but to a land owner, Sacred Waters is an opportunity to improve your property from a sportsman’s perspective. Our Land and Fisheries Management team and Professional Anglers are here to help any landowners in the surrounding Pagosa Springs area to manage land. Specifically, our team’s services include an analysis of the property to produce a management plan that will improve fishing with limited/selective stocking based of scientific data and return your land to its naturally functioning state. Together, we can ensure that your private land provide quality recreation spaces for you, your guests, our donors, as well as a variety of charity, youth, and veterans organizations.
Do you want to know how we can help you sustainably profit off your land, properly manage your fishery, and provide opportunities for future generations, disabled veterans, and our generous donors to experience the best of Colorado? If so, we would love to meet with you and discuss in detail the next steps to help improve your resources and give it back to others.
In-kind Donation of real property. If a donation of real property or donated leases are given, there are certain conditions that would cause us to not accept the donation. If the donation could not have restrictions that would deviate from our Mission and organizational goals. The donation can not prohibit the use of the property for education of at risk youth, disabled peoples, US Veterans, or other groups who desire to learn about fish habitat or learning fly fishing. The property can not be used for purposes which do not promote this use. There must be allowances for improvement to the water the fishery and protect the existing resources. There must be a “selective harvest policy” for the waters to protect the fishery. The property cannot be protected by federal or state law that does not allow these activities. The land must be open for improvement to allow disabled or handicapped from accessing the water.
Thank you in advance for your time. We look forward to hearing from you in the future.
Tight Lines,
Joseph Eichelberger, President of Sacred Waters
